In December, Aidan had the idea that someone should run for Student Body President who knows how to get things done in ASG without sacrificing involvement across campus. Quickly he realized that Madelyn was the woman for the job. Let’s make one thing clear: Madelyn and Aidan both serve in ASG. While they both believe it to be a powerful way of advocating for students, they are not ASG lifers who have been dreaming of this since high school. In fact, it took some convincing.

 

Madelyn and Aidan met when they were 8 years old and have been inseparable ever since. When Aidan approached Madelyn to ask her whether she’d consider running, Madelyn knew if she was going to do this, she needed Aidan by her side.

 

Madelyn and Aidan are actively involved in a combined 15 organizations across campus, and that involvement has exposed them to the frustration of so many Miami students–a frustration that they share. They know that the Student Body President and Vice President should prioritize the student experience and perspective, and they promise to advocate for students unapologetically to achieve the greatest result for you, the student body.

 

While Madelyn and Aidan love Miami, they know that this university is far from perfect. Administrators have decades to work on the improvements Miami desperately needs. However, students only have four years on this campus. Madelyn and Aidan recognize that we need student leaders who can mobilize the student body to accelerate these changes, and they know that they are the best people for the job.
